REPLICA OF ISOLATION CELL

Front view of prison isolation cell, door closed, as described by Dr. Oscar Biscet in a letter smuggled out of prison to his wife, Elsa Morejón. The USINT/Havana Chief of Mission, James Cason, had this replica built, based on that description of the isolation cell in the Kilo 5 y Medio Prison in the westernmost Cuban Province of Pinar del Río.

The objects placed in the model cell are the actual items that Dr. Biscet had with him during his first imprisonment, 1999-2002 (October 31): a plastic cup, toothbrush and toothpaste, a sheet, his Bible, a towel, a small bucket for water and (not visible in photo), a food plate.
